Most booth software resells AI credits at a margin and locks your photos into their cloud. Capture doesn't. You bring your own AI key and your own storage, and you pay those vendors directly at their published rates. We stay out of it.
Add your own AI provider token and pay the vendor's real price directly. We never resell AI credits or take a cut on inference. Your AI spend is exactly what the vendor charges, nothing added.
Multiple AI models and vendors are supported. You choose what fits your event's budget and output quality. Switch models as new options come out. The relationship is between you and the provider.
Guest photos live in your own cloud storage account, under your control. Cloudflare is supported today, with more storage vendors coming. Nothing sits on our servers. You own the data, you set the retention policy, and you're the data controller when a corporate client asks.

Reliability first
Every operator has a story about losing an event to a frozen laptop, a bad camera handoff, or a venue with no WiFi. Stability during a live event was the first design requirement for Capture, not a feature added later. The design reflects that.
The promise is simple: the booth keeps running when things go wrong around it.
Built as a native Windows application, not a browser app or Electron wrapper. Consistent performance, predictable resource use, and a boot cycle operators can count on at setup time.
Core capture, printing, QR sharing, and local storage all work without internet. When the venue WiFi dies, the booth keeps running. Cloud sync and AI features reconnect automatically when connectivity returns.
Two capture engines are built in: an official manufacturer integration and an independent secondary engine. You choose which one runs your camera, and you can switch at runtime without restarting. If one path doesn't work cleanly with your specific camera or firmware, you switch. No hardware changes, no ripping out your whole setup.
Everything above applies equally to stationary enclosures, shell booths, and enclosed rigs. Capture is not category-specific. It runs whatever you're operating.
AI interactions
For booths with a microphone and speakers, Capture includes conversational AI. Guests can actually talk to the booth. Event-specific and operator-level context can be loaded in, so the AI knows what's happening at that event and responds accordingly.
Pre-photo and after-photo spoken phrases make every interaction feel considered rather than mechanical. This works for stationary booths with audio setups, and it's what makes Capture the natural choice for roaming robot booths: the first class of booth that actually needs this built in from the start.

Data ownership
Capture is built so the operator owns the data pipeline throughout. Photos go to your storage. AI runs on your key. Email goes through your SMTP. There's no intermediary vendor processing your guests' photos or personal information.
That's what lets serious operators win corporate and agency work where clients ask real questions about data handling. The answer is clean because the setup is clean: you control the storage, the AI key, and the delivery pipeline.

AI inference runs on your API key directly. Guest images are never routed through our platform for processing. Your AI provider relationship is between you and the vendor.
Guest email delivery goes through your own SMTP server. No shared relay, no third-party email processor touching guest data on our behalf.
Why we built it
We're a technical team with an engineering and embedded-systems background, along with product designers and engineers. We built Capture for operators who run real events and need software that holds up under real conditions.
When we looked at the existing photo booth software landscape, the options were legacy. They weren't built for how events actually work today. Privacy and data ownership were afterthoughts. The economics squeezed operators: intermediary fees on top of monthly subscriptions, eating into already-thin margins, with support that barely existed.
We also saw a gap no one was addressing: the new generation of roaming, AI-powered, talking booths. Existing software treated them as a side feature. They aren't.
What makes Capture different is that our team runs booths in the field. Every release gets tested at real events, with real clients, on the ground. Our feedback isn't remote and it isn't based on assumptions. We know what breaks at load-in, what the software needs to do when the venue WiFi goes down, and what operators actually need from a tool they're trusting in front of a room full of guests. That's what we build from.
